We are all different. Some of us are just more different than others. We are all “equal”, and some are just more “equal” than others. It’s a crazy world.
Some experiences are “ normal” – we all go through them. Some are incredibly painful and some are blissfully beautiful.
Other experiences fit more on the fringes of society.
If we don’t fit a majority perspective of the word, or are unable to voice our desperate needs, it can feel like a chick trying to hatch out of a stainless steel shell. Apart from appearing wilful, bizarre and to be avoided, the issue looks shiny, sterile and clinical from the outside.
But the experience from the inside is anything but that.
Such is the case with autism and mental health. Separate, but often related.
